Group - Class Feedback

We played our track to the class to get some ideas for our video. These will help to enforce the initial ideas we already have and help with the creative process.
The results were as follows:

People thought that we should use outdoor locations such as woods and open fields, preferably with sunny weather to reflect the feel of the artist.
There was an agreement that we need a strong actress to play Florence, and to lip sync to the song, and that there should definitely be a strong performance based element possibly intertwined with a more conceptual narrative to do more with the lyrics of the song.
People thought we should shoot in a sepia tone to give the video a vintage feel that reflects the image and style of the artist, there was also the idea that it could be part stop motion if it was appropriate.
There was an opinion that we could include a boy in the video as well as the leading singer. And possibly use a graveyard as a location to tie in with the theme of coffins.
Costumes were a key thing too, they need to stay in tune with the image and feel of the artist, as well as the mise-en-scene of the video, using such things as bird cages, bunting, glitter etc. such as can be seen in her previous videos.

  1. Although we've never really thought about including a boy in our music video, I actually really like this idea.

  2. I think it is the sort of thing that would only really work if we had a strong enough concept otherwise it might seem like we were including it for the sake of it rather than because it is adding anything to the video.
